
Badminton Europe is delighted to announce that the contract for the 2026 European Junior Championships has officially been signed. The prestigious event will take place in Tatabánya, Hungary, from 18–29 August 2026, marking another significant milestone in Hungary’s growing involvement in European badminton.
The agreement confirms that one of Europe’s most important championships will return to a nation that has consistently demonstrated commitment, professionalism, and passion for the sport. With world-class facilities and a strong local badminton community, Tatabánya is set to offer an exceptional stage for Europe’s rising stars.
Sven Serré, President of Badminton Europe Confederation, expressed his enthusiasm for returning to Hungary: “We as Badminton Europe are very happy to go back to Hungary for one of our major events. After a successful organisation of last year’s Annual Delegates Meeting in Budapest and the European University Championships in 2024, the Hungarian Badminton Association was eager to even do better and organise these junior championships. I’m convinced that it will be great championships, a platform of excellence for all our future junior champions.”
The 2026 European Junior Championships will not only showcase Europe’s top junior talent but will also further cement Hungary’s role as a strong contributor to the development of badminton on the continent. With the date and location now confirmed, the journey toward an unforgettable championship officially begins.
