Our Board of Directors held their Committee and Board meetings this weekend, 9–12 October. Most of the weekend took place in Holbæk, Denmark, where everyone had a tour of the Sportsbyen complex, home to our High Performance Centre, and were able to see the excellent facilities available to the players based there. Of course, they couldn’t resist taking to the courts themselves to play a few friendly matches. As an extra element to the badminton matches, we were joined by our partner Yonex, who brought along their new synthetic badminton shuttle, which we had the opportunity to try out. It is a truly exciting development they are working on.
On Sunday, the group went to Brøndby, where the Badminton Europe office is located. Here, the Board of Directors also had the opportunity to see the offices and the new facilities that have recently been implemented. The board meeting took place at the office, where several exciting projects were discussed, which you will hear more about in due course.
All in all, it has been a wonderful weekend in Denmark, with the Board of Directors being highly active and engaged. Together, they discussed several key areas with the shared goal of creating the best possible conditions for European badminton.
