The Valence Alpes International 2026 presented by FZ FORZA, the first edition of the tournament and one of the top-level events on the European Circuit, wrapped up yesterday.
The International Challenge tournament had plenty of strong results from European players, making it a successful inaugural edition.
The host nation had a successful tournament. Starting with men's doubles, Mael Cattoen/William Villeger won the title, while Eloi Adam/Leo Rossi finished as runners-up. Natan Begga/Grégoire Deschamp secured the bronze, alongside England's Oliver Butler/Samuel Jones.
There was more French success in mixed doubles, where Natan Begga/Elsa Jacob defeated fellow French pair Thibault Gardon/Kathell Desmots-Chacun in an all-French final. Grégoire Deschamp and Denmark's Iben Bergstein finished third/fourth, as did England's Samuel Jones and Lizzie Tolman.
France also won the title in women's singles. Second seed Anna Tatranova defeated top seed Yvonne Li, Germany, in straight games. Czech players Petra Maixnerová and Tallulah Sharleen Van Coppenolle completed the podium.
In women's doubles, Abbygael Harris/Estelle van Leeuwen were the champions after defeating Anastasiia Boiarun/Daria Kharlampovich in the final. Kirsten de Wit/Debora Jille secured bronze.
The men's singles title went to India's Rithvik Sanjeevi Satish Kumar, who defeated Croatia's Aria Dinata in a three-game final. This was Dinata's best result of the year so far. Denmark's William Bøgebjerg and England's Harry Huang also secured a podium finish.

This week in the European Circuit, Czechia will host the Czech International Future Series 2026 which will take place in České Budějovice from 18 to 21 June. The tournament will be streamed live on BadmintonEurope.tv.
