The SANDS CHINA LTD. Macau Open 2026 kicking off tomorrow and taking place from 16 to 21 June, follows last week's SATHIO Australian Badminton Open 2026 and comes ahead of the American leg of the HSBC BWF World Tour, which includes the YONEX US Open 2026 and the YONEX Canada Open 2026, both Super 300 events.

With many European players having already travelled home from the busy stretch of tournaments, the line-up in Macau will be smaller but there will still be plenty of opportunities in this Super 300 event.

In men's singles, Denmark's Magnus Johannesen will be the men’s singles the fifth seed. While he still hasn’t gotten his first podium finish of the year, the Dane came close at the Orléans Masters, reaching the quarterfinals, and this tournament could be a good stage to achieve a deep run.

Israel's Misha Zilberman is also in the men's singles main draw, while Azerbaijan's Keisha Fatimah Azzahra will be the only player representing Europe in the women's singles main draw.

In men's doubles, Rodion Alimov/Maksim Ogloblin will be in the men’s doubles main draw. The duo have had two podium finishes on the European Circuit this year and this could be their chance to shine in the World Tour. Denmark's Christian Faust Kjær/Rasmus Kjær have enjoyed an even stronger season, claiming multiple podium finishes and two titles so far in 2026, and will also be starting in the main draw.

There will also be European players in the qualification rounds – Azerbaijan's Ade Resky Dwicahyo and Dicky Dwi Pangestu, Italy's Fabio Caponio, and England's Wang Yue Hang/Cho Wai Lam.
