Denmark's Line Christophersen captured the biggest individual title of her career so far by winning the YONEX US Open 2026, claiming her first-ever BWF World Tour Super 300 crown.

Christophersen secured the title after overcoming Bulgaria's Kaloyana Nalbantova in a hard-fought final. The Dane prevailed 21-16, 16-21, 21-11 in the final.
After the final Christophersen said this to BWF “That’s crazy and I’m really happy right now. I’m just glad that I came out with a win. In the third game I tried to relax and keep pushing. I always fight. When the last point came, everything was just amazing.”

The title run was far from straightforward for the Dane. Christophersen won her opening-round match in straight games, but from then on she had to battle through three-game encounters in every remaining match on her way to the title.

After taking the opening game in the final, Christophersen saw Nalbantova respond strongly to level the match. However, the Dane regained control in the deciding game, producing a convincing performance to seal the championship.

The final also marked an important milestone for Nalbantova, as it was the young Bulgarian's first appearance in a Super 300 final. Despite falling short in the title match, the tournament represented another significant step forward in her development.
After the match Nalbantova talked with BWF “The key was focus. I lost it when I did two-three mistakes in a row. I tried to change tactics, but I had to continue to do the same thing. I did so many mistakes. I take only positives, because it was my first World Tour final. I showed that I have improved.” – Kaloyana Nalbantova

Congratulations to both athletes on their impressive performances and outstanding results at the YONEX US Open 2026.
