Greg and Jenny Mairs announced before the start of All England that this tournament would be their last on the international stage.

According to the pair themselves, this decision has been a huge factor in their success at All England. They’ve been able to play completely freely, without overthinking or overanalyzing situations and their positioning.

And that freedom has paid off — not only did they win their first-ever match at the world’s oldest badminton tournament, but they’ve just secured their second victory, earning a spot in the quarterfinals of a Super 1000 tournament for the first time.

Despite their impressive run, the couple remains firm on their decision to retire. As Greg puts it,
If we win the whole thing, maybe we can talk about it.”

To keep the dream alive, the English duo will first have to overcome the strong Korean pair Jong Min Lee/Yu Jung Chae in tomorrow's quarterfinal.
