Today marks the start of the 2024 European Junior Team Championships in Ibiza, Spain.
30 nations are competing to become the new European champions and dethrone Denmark, who won the tournament in 2022.
Among the favorites are the top-seeded France, fielding an incredibly strong team led by Elsa Jacobs, who is also the top seed in the individual tournament for both Women’s Doubles and Mixed Doubles, partnering with Camille Pognante and Tom Lalot Trescarte, respectively.
The defending champions from Denmark are ready to give their all to reclaim the gold and are also competing with a formidable team. In the group stage, they face Cyprus and Slovenia, who will do their utmost to advance to the quarterfinals.
This year’s tournament features many strong players from various countries, as clearly reflected in the seeding for the individual event. Poland has the top-seeded men’s singles player Mateusz Golas, Italy boasts the top-seeded men’s doubles pair Simone Piccinin and Marco Danti, and Sweden is represented by men’s singles player Romeo Makboul, who reached the final at the Norwegian International 2024 just two weeks ago.

It’s safe to say that the teams are ready to give their very best and fight for their countries. We wish them all the best of luck and a fair, well-played tournament.
