Antonsen and Astrup/Rasmussen Shine in Front of Danish Crowd at the S750 Denmark Open

The VICTOR Denmark Open Super 750 tournament, part of the BWF World Tour, has wrapped up the Round of 32, setting the stage for the next round.

Day 2 delivered thrilling performances, much to the delight of the Danish fans.

Anders Antonsen vs. Toma Junior Popov
In a rematch of the 2024 European Championships Men’s Singles final, Anders Antonsen faced French star Toma Junior Popov. Toma took control early in the first game, leveraging the slower side of the court. However, in the second game, Antonsen found his rhythm, dominating the court and net to seal the win.

“I’m surprised,” Antonsen told Badminton Europe, noting that this marked his 10th consecutive victory against Popov.

Kim Astrup/Anders Rasmussen vs. Toma/Christo Popov
The day concluded with a thrilling doubles match as Danish favorites Kim Astrup and Anders Rasmussen faced the Popov brothers. Despite the French pair gaining momentum in the second game, the Danes powered through with an impressive 9-point streak, securing their 8th straight win against the Popovs to loud applause from the home crowd.

Looking Ahead
Exciting matchups await tomorrow, including Alex Lanier vs. Viktor Axelsen and Thom Gicquel/Delphine Delrue vs. Alexandra Bøje/Robin Tabeling.
