Last week, the international circuit passed through Istanbul, Turkey, for one of the most prestigious tournaments of the year: the VICTOR Türkiye International Challenge 2024.
The tournament was a great success for the gold medalists, all of whom hailed from European member federations. Despite the strong participation from many Indian players, who secured two silver medals (in Mixed Doubles and Men’s Singles) and one bronze medal (in Men’s Singles), it was the European competitors who dominated the podium.
Turkish Results:
Turkish bronze medalists from the European Championships, Bengisu Ercetin/Nazlıcan İnci, finished in third place, alongside their compatriots Yasemen Bektaş/Cansu Erçetin. Both pairs played strong matches but were ultimately defeated by the first and second-seeded teams: Paula Lopez/Lucia Rodriguez and Polina Buhrova/Yevheniia Kantemyr, respectively.
