Viktor Axelsen has finally secured the Hong Kong Open title, one of the few titles that had eluded him in the BWF Super Series.

Throughout the tournament, Axelsen showcased his strong form, culminating in a decisive victory over China’s unexpected finalist, Lei Lan Xi, with a score of 21-9 21-12 in the final. "I’m very happy to win this tournament as you could see from my celebrations," Axelsen shared. "It’s one of those tournaments I haven’t won so to finally do it feels amazing."

Axelsen reflected on his performance, noting, “I kept a consistent level throughout the match, only a few mistakes at the start of the second game. All in all, I played an excellent final.”

Next up, Axelsen is set to compete at the Super 1000 VICTOR China Open 2024 this week, where he is the defending champion.
