Lanier advances to quarterfinals in Japan

French sensation Alex Lanier continues his winning streak at the DAIHATSU Japan Open 2024, securing a spot in the quarterfinals after today’s huge victory. In a day marked by losses for the remaining European players, Lanier stood out by winning against Indonesia’s Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo, ranked 34th in the world.

Lanier delivered a commanding straight-games win, 21-14 21-13. His next opponent is Japan’s Kenta Nishimoto, with whom he holds an even 1-1 head-to-head record. Their last encounter at the Canada Open quarterfinals saw Lanier emerge as the winner. Will he replicate his success on the Super 750 tournament?
