Badminton Europe is excited to welcome Cecile List Jensen as our new Events Officer.

A wealth of experience from the Sports Management world

With a background in sport management, event planning, and a strong passion for sports, Cecilie brings a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to Badminton Europe.

She recently completed her Professional Bachelor's degree in Sport Management in January. Her academic journey has been complemented by practical experience, notably during her internship with Destination Fyn, where she was involved in organizing the logistics for Denmark Open 2023.

"I had to change my mindset and adapt quickly to the badminton world, but the experience was incredibly rewarding," said Cecilie.

It was through this role that she gained significant insight into the world of badminton, foreshadowing her future work at Badminton Europe.

Before diving into the world of sports events, Cecilie accumulated a broad range of experiences. She spent three years working abroad with a travel agency, Spies, where she held various roles, from service representative to destination manager in the Dominican Republic. Additionally, Cecilie served in the Danish military, where she was part of a representative council advocating for the interests of her fellow soldiers, a role that honed her leadership and advocacy skills.

A passion for smooth events management
Cecilie is particularly passionate about the event management side of sports, describing it as a complex yet rewarding field. She enjoys the challenge of ensuring that every aspect of an event runs smoothly, likening it to preparing for an exam where every detail counts.

"If something goes wrong, it’s immediately visible. But that’s also what makes it exciting."

Her experience at Denmark Open taught her the importance of adaptability and learning the intricacies of a sport to deliver a successful event. She is eager to bring this mindset to her role at Badminton Europe, where she looks forward to continuously improving processes and contributing to the growth of badminton across the continent.

A crafty, dancing events officer who is looking to inspire people with badminton
Outside of her professional life, Cecilie enjoys staying active through training at the gym and dancing. She's also a creative at heart, indulging in activities like painting, renovating furniture, and crafting. As a self-described "social sport watcher," Cecilie loves watching sports, particularly during major events like the Olympic Games.

Cecilie is excited about her future at Badminton Europe and is looking forward to being part of the action at upcoming tournaments. Her goal is to help elevate the sport and inspire more people to get involved in badminton. Looking ahead, Cecilie is excited about being on the ground at tournaments and further developing her skills.

"I’m most looking forward to seeing it all in action, to be on the ground at the tournaments," she shares.

With her dynamic background and passion for sports, Cecilie is an exciting addition to our team, and we are excited for her to be a part of Badminton Europe!
