After a successful run through in what was dubbed as "the Group of Death" and an impressive display at the quarterfinal, Kim Astrup /Anders Skaarup Rasmussen's (DEN) Olympic streak has come to an end.

They played the semifinal against the defending Olympic champions from Chinese Taipei Lee Yang/ Wang Chi-Lin who, after two close games, took charge of the third game and secured their spot in the final with a 21-10 result in the final gama.

This means that the World Championships silver medalists will play for the Olympic bronze medal against Aaron Chia/ Soh Wooi Yik (MAS) while the Olympic champions meet Liang Wei Keng/ Wang Chang (CHN) in the finals for the Olympic gold medals.
