In the upcoming weekend, 25-27 September, Portugal will host a BEC Para Badminton Event in the city of Caldas da Rainha.
Nine coaches, five administrators and five Para players will be attending the event, where they will learn more about Para badminton. The coaches course will be led by two experts, Dina Abouzeid Sariñena and Guillaume Gailly, while the administrators course will be led by Tania Teoh. During the event, the participants will learn about Para badminton in general, how to integrate and develop Para badminton, coaching Para players, and much more.
Patricia Rosa, General Secretary of the Portuguese Badminton Federation, shared some thoughts about the upcoming event.
- This is my third consecutive year attending the BEC Para badminton event, but this time I am honoured to be on the side of those who welcome member associations that want to take up the challenge of integrating Para badminton in their countries. For the past few months we've been working with Badminton Europe in order to ensure the best conditions for this event, in the current context of the epidemiological situation due to COVID-19, so I’m very pleased that we managed to provide this opportunity for the coaches and administrators. Hosting this event shows how much we are committed to helping with the development and strength of Para badminton in Europe.
- I look forward to meeting all who accepted this challenge and want to be part of the Para badminton community through knowledge sharing, best practices, experiences and a lot of teamwork.
