Another BWF Para-Badminton International is heading to Europe next year. After successfully organizing the DANISA Denmark Open presented by Victor last month (17-22 October) in Odense, Badminton Denmark will head back to Odense next year.
On top of the annual BWF Superseries Premier, the 2018 BWF Denmark Para-Badminton International will take place simultaneously from 16 - 21 October 2018 in the same city.
This is Badminton Denmark´s maiden international para-badminton tournament and Badminton Europe spoke to Brian Bach Moesgaard, Director of Event at Badminton Denmark on this milestone.
- We expect this event to be as cool as the other events in the Denmark Open family. At the moment, we have 4.000 guests playing or involved at some point during the tournament in either Denmark Senior or Denmark Junior side events. Our plan for the next cycle of the BWF World Tour beside the Denmark Open is to have a Junior, a Senior, a para-badminton and a Special Olympic tournament.
Badminton Denmark´s motto - Badminton for All
- We already run the Junior and the Senior tournament alongside the Denmark Open each year. So to truly make this an event for all within our motto ‘Badminton for all’, we are excited to be able to add a para-badminton and a Special Olympic badminton tournament to the Denmark Open family of Events from next year.
- I welcome all the para-badminton players around the world to come to Odense and compete at our first ever BWF Denmark Para-Badminton International.
