In Spokane, USA, the stage is set to crown the world's best junior badminton players in the BWF World Junior Championships 2023, starting next week.

The event unfolds in two parts: the BWF World Junior Team Championships from 25 to 30 September, followed by the individual event, the BWF World Junior Championships, running from 2 to 8 October.

This marks the 23rd edition of the championship, with Spokane, in the State of Washington, hosting the competition in the Western United States.

The mixed team event, also known as the Suhandinata Cup, made its debut in 2000. Historically, Asian nations have dominated this event, with South Korea emerging as the reigning champions in the previous edition, ending a title drought since 2013. Chinese Taipei, displaying their best performance to date, clinched the runner-up spot, while Indonesia and Japan secured the third and fourth places.

Group A promises fierce competition as it features China, with a staggering 13-time title history in 18 editions of the team event. Joining them in this strong group are the current title-holders, Korea, along with the Netherlands and Norway, making it a challenging mix for our Europeans in this group.

Group B sees Japan, the 2022 bronze medallists and winners of the 2023 Asia Junior Championships, facing off among others against Lithuania and Canada, the runner-ups in the last two editions of the American Team Championships.

Group C is packed with European talent, including England, Latvia, Austria, and Poland, alongside Malaysia.

France, the 2022 European Junior Team Championships runners-up, will lock horns with Spain in Group E, with Belgium also in the mix. Denmark, the European champions, find themselves in Group G, battling last year's world runners-up, Chinese Taipei, as well as Oceania's runner-ups, New Zealand.
