It was all about doubles today at the YONEX German Open. Following the conclusion of the qualification stages this afternoon, the spotlight turned to the main draw. Men’s and women’s doubles pairs took to the courts to play their first-round matches in Mülheim.

Top-seeded sisters Gabriela and Stefani Stoeva, last year's runner-ups, made an impressive start, advancing to the second round. In an exciting all-Danish clash, second seeds Rasmus Kjær/Frederik Søgaard defeated Daniel Lundgaard/Mads Vestergaard in a three-game match.

The French duo of the Popov brothers also had a close ending against Chen Zhi Ray/Lin Yu Chieh. Despite the close score in the second game, the fifth-seeded brothers clinched the win, adding to the day's European success stories.

Additional wins from pairs such as Christopher Grimley/Matthew Grimley, Julie Macpherson/Ciara Torrance, Ben Lane/Sean Vendy, and others like Tea Margueritte/Flavie Vallet, and Daniel Hess/Marvin Seidel, have made it a good start for European pairs in this Super 300 tournament.

Looking ahead to tomorrow, the first round continues with the men’s and women’s singles and mixed doubles events – matches start at 10 AM (CET), promising another exciting day of badminton.
