Thursday marks the start of the second round of this year's Denmark Open, and due to many impressive performances, we have a strong lineup of Europeans competing today. Spain, France, England, the Netherlands, Ukraine, and Denmark are all represented on the tournament's third day.

European participation kicks off early today with a mixed doubles match between Robin Tabeling/Alexandra Bøje and Thom Gicquel/Delphine Delrue. The winner of this match will face a tough challenge in the quarterfinals, likely against the top-seeded pair Feng Yan Shi/Huang Dong Ping.

Ben Lane and Sean Vendy delivered an outstanding performance on Tuesday, defeating the strong Malaysian duo of Ong Yew Sin and Teo Ee Yi. Today, they will need to maintain their excellent form to overcome the Taiwanese pair of Lee Jhe-Huei and Yang Po-Hsuan.

Today also marks a potential farewell for the Danish women’s doubles team of Maiken Fruergaard and Sara Thygesen. After 12 years as partners, the Denmark Open will be their last tournament together. They need to find their top level to avoid an early exit as they face the third-seeded Olympic bronze medalists Nami Matsuyama and Chiharu Shida. The two pairs met in the quarterfinals at this year's Olympic Games, where the Japanese team secured a convincing victory.

The highlight of the day features a matchup between rising star Alex Lanier and double Olympic champion and home favorite Viktor Axelsen. The two players have met only once before, over two and a half years ago when Lanier was just 17. There's no doubt that much has changed since their first encounter, as Alex Lanier has established himself as one of the biggest talents on the international stage.
