After an amazing week full of outstanding performances, Danish duo Kim Astrup/ Anders Skaarup Rasmussen narrowly missed gold, winning a commendable silver medal at the CLASH ROYALE Arctic Open 2024, powered by YONEX.
As the final Europeans standing in the tournament, Astrup/ Rasmussen faced off against Malaysia’s Goh Sze Fei/ Nur Izzuddin in the finals. The Malaysian pair had a great run this week, eliminating both the fourth-seeded Fajar Alfian/ Muhammad Ardianto, as well as top seeds Liang Wei Keng/ Wang Chang on their path to the final.
The Danish pair took an early lead by winning the first game, setting a high bar for the match. However, Goh/ Nur found their rhythm, regaining strength and confidence which allowed them to reverse the tide, ultimately winning the match 15-21, 21-15, 21-19.
