The VICTOR Croatian International 2024 finished yesterday with a strong European presence on the podium, and with several athletes winning multiple medals.
Switching the women’s doubles for the women’s singles, Stefani Stoeva succeeded in her run in this event. She secured a bronze medal with solid victories, including a win over top seed Heli Neiman. However, her run ended in the semifinals against India’s Raksha Kandasamy.
While the singles titles went to non-European contenders, Europe was well represented in the finals. Belgium’s Charles Fouyn and England’s Leona Lee claimed the runner-up spots in the men’s and women’s singles, respectively.
Serbia’s Mihajlo Tomic, who has had standout performances in mixed doubles with Andjela Vitman on the international stage, captured the mixed doubles title as well as the men’s doubles title alongside Viktor Petrovic.
Germany’s Jonathan Dresp also had a successful tournament, securing silver medals in both mixed and men’s doubles with partners Lara Kaepplein and Aaron Sonnenschein, respectively.
The European circuit moves on to the YONEX Bulgarian International Championship 2024. This Future Series tournament will run from 3 to 6 October.
