Excitement Awaits at Korea Open 2024

After last week’s Japan Open 2024, which had many tremendous twists and turns, with Alex Lanier becoming the first Frenchman to be victorious at a Super 750 tournament, the European anticipation for the Korea Open 2024 is at an all-time high.

The first day will be a mix of Round of 32 bouts for doubles and qualification matches for singles.

Doubles:
Only men’s doubles will feature European players on Day 1.

Andreas Søndergaard/Jesper Toft (DEN) vs. Bjarne Geiss/Jan Colin Voelker (GER) – The pair have played once before, where the Germans took the victory at last year's YONEX Welsh International Badminton Championships 2023 (21-13, 25-27, 16-21).

Supak Jomkoh/Kittinupong Kedren (THA) [6] vs. Daniel Lundgaard/Mads Vestergaard (DEN) – These pairs have never played before, so it will be interesting to see how the world-ranked No. 29 Danish pair fares against a seeded pair. Maybe Lanier's result as the 29th ranked in Men’s Singles will give them some motivation.

Qualification Singles:
Tomorrow's singles matches also feature three European players hoping to qualify for the main tournament.

Wang Yuehang (ENG) vs. Daniil Dubovenko (ISR)

Kim Bruun (DEN) vs. Takeru Kai (ASU)
