End of road for Tabeling and Piek in Paris

Despite starting their Paris campaign with a win, Kim Astrup/ Anders Skaarup Rasmussen faced a setback against Tokyo 2020 gold medallists Lee Yang/Wang Chi-Lin. The match extended to three games where the Chinese Taipei pair outplayed the fourth-seeded Danes in the decider, winning the match 21-15, 19-21, 21-15. The upcoming clash against the ninth seeds from China Liu Yu Chen/ Ou Xuan Yi is crucial for the Danes, demanding a top performance from them.

Meanwhile, Robin Tabeling/ Selena Piek are now officially out of Olympics after their second loss in Paris. The Dutch duo, who announced that Paris 2024 would be their final competition together, suffered defeats against Thailand’s Dechapol Puavaranukroh/ Sapsiree Taerattanachai yesterday followed by South Korea’s third seeds Seo Seung Jae/ Chae Yu Jung today, with a score of 16-21 12-21 in their latest match.
