But Europe's presence in the men’s singles semifinals is assured thanks to Christo Popov's impressive win. Popov's victory over Japan's Koki Watanabe, who had previously beaten his brother, marks a significant milestone.
Dutch duo Robin Tabeling/ Selena Piek secured a hard-fought victory in straight sets against Chinese Taipei's Ye Hong Wei/ Lee Chia Hsin, 11-21, 21-19, 21-19. Carolina Marin showcased her top form by defeating China’s second-seeded Chen Yu Fei, 21-17 21-15.
