From Singapore to Indonesia: badminton action continues

The Asian leg is reaching thrilling conclusion. European stars shined in Singapore last week. Now, it's time for the Indonesia Open.

Emotions ran high as Mathias Christiansen and Alexandra Bøje secured a monumental victory at the KFF Singapore Open final. After an impressive run in the Thailand Open, the Danish pair triumphed in Singapore, displaying remarkable form throughout the tournament. In the final, they defeated Japan's Yuta Watanabe and Arisa Higashino, the world number two pair, to claim the title.

Another Dane, Anders Antonsen, made a remarkable comeback after a period of injury. Antonsen's journey in Singapore was nothing short of impressive, reaching the final where he faced Anthony Sinisuka Ginting. Although Ginting emerged victorious in straight games, 21-16, 21-13, Antonsen's performance marked a significant achievement.

Ready for another week of action?
Now, all eyes turn towards the highly anticipated Indonesia Open, a Super 750 tournament scheduled from June 13 to June 18.

Fresh off their Singapore Open victory, Mathias Christiansen and Alexandra Bøje will commence their Indonesia Open campaign against Chinse Taipei’s Yang Po-Hsuan and Hu Ling Fang.

In a thrilling opening match, eighth-seeded Lee Zii Jia, Malaysia, will clash with Lakshya Sen, India. With Sen leading the head-to-head 2-1, this encounter promises to be an exciting battle between two formidable players.

French duo Christo Popov and Toma Junior Popov will take on India's Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty, the fifth-ranked pair in the world. 

The return of Viktor Axelsen has fans buzzing with excitement. As the top seed, the Danish player will kick off his Indonesia Open campaign against China's Weng Hong Yang. Meanwhile, Carolina Marin, the sixth seed, will face Malaysia's Goh Jin Wei in what promises to be a captivating match.
