The newly elected President of Badminton Europe visited the Confederation’s Office to share his vision with the staff
Sven Serré was elected on 22 April 2023 in Baku, Azerbaijan. On Friday 12 May, he made his first visit as BEC President to the BEC Office. The visit allowed Serré to engage with the BEC staff, share his vision for the organisation, and gain insights into the functional workings areas of the organisation.
During his visit, Serré took the opportunity to present his campaign journey while sharing his extensive professional background as well as his involvement in the sport.
Following the presentation, Serré engaged in discussions with the Senior Management as well as the various Managers in the areas of Administration/Finance, Events, and Development. These discussions aimed to deepen his understanding of the current priorities and work processes of the BEC Office.
“As I stepped into the Badminton Europe Office and met with Brian and Jimmy, and the dedicated Senior Management, Managers and officers, I felt the passion and expertise that drives this organisation. I got an insight into their roles and tasks at the BEC office. I am determined to build upon the solid foundation that exists here, fostering collaboration, transparency, and a shared vision for the growth of European badminton together with our Members and players,” President Serré stated.
BEC General Secretary, Brian Agerbak, stated: “We were delighted with the visit of the new BEC President. It is important that the staff get to meet him and understand his priorities, values, and ambitions for the organisation. Having served on the BEC Board since 2019, Sven Serré, has an in-depth understanding of Badminton Europe and we look forward to continuing to develop European badminton under his leadership.”
