Sweden’s Emma Wengberg (pictured) not only doubled up on the podium in the finals of the 2015 Finnish International by winning the mixed and women’s doubles but also doubled up on her tournament victories this calendar year moving onto a total of four wins with the help of Filip Myhren and Clara Nistad.

The Swede was top seed going into the mixed doubles event this week in Finland and had to draw on all her experience in the final against Danes Moller & Knudsen after losing the opening game. After winning in Portugal earlier in the year Wengberg and Myhren bounced back to take game two and three to lift the title.

On the crest of a wave Wengberg then partnered up with Clara Nistad to take the women’s doubles crown in what is remarkably their second win in only their second tournament together after victory at the Varcolor Polish International at the beginning of the circuit season.

In Yesterday’s final the Swedes beat young Dutch pair Alida Chen and Cheryl Seinen in two games 21-16 22-20.

Rasmussen lives up to circuit win promise.

Stefen Rasmussen lived up to his personal promise of trying to win his first circuit event this year and the Dane duly delivered after a series of near misses over the past 12 months. A series of semi-final and quarter finals proved Rasmussen’s consistency but a final and a win were something he set his sights on this year.

The Dane only dropped a single game all tournament and in the final came through against compatriot Kasper Dinesen in two games 21-14 21-17 to lift his first circuit title.

Top seeded Russian Kuznetsov and Khakimov did as everyone expected and lifted the men’s doubles title while Sofie Holmboe Dahl failed in her effort to go back to back on the circuit losing out in three games in yesterday’s final to Febby Angguni.

The Young Dane has had a fantastic end to 2015 and the points secured in Finland should see her close in on the top 100 in the world.
