There are also hopes for the home crowd in the doubles events. Serena Au Yeong and Katharina Hochmeir, eighth seeds, will aim to make their mark and so will the second-seeded duo of Philip Birker and Katharina Hochmeir, and Simon Bailoni and Serena Au Yeong in the mixed doubles.

The five events’ main draws feature notable contenders such as third-seeded Ade Resky Dwicahyo, Azerbaijan and number-two-seed Julien Carraggi, Belgium, in the men’s singles; Hungary's Vivien Sandorhazi assuming the women’s singles fourth seed; men’s doubles top seeds Rory Easton and Zach Russ, England, and second seeded Ondřej Král and Adam Mendrek from the Czech Republic.

Representing the Centre of Excellence, Slovakia’s Milan Dratva will aim to make his mark both in the men’s singles and mixed doubles with Katarina Vargova, and so will semi-permanent player Katerina Tomalova, Czech Republic.
