After a full day of qualifications, the main draw finally started this morning in Uppsala, Sweden.

Another long and exciting day is underway at the VICTOR Swedish Open 2023, as the Round of 32 and Round of 16 are being played on the same day.

Since 09.00 (CEST), the strongest players have been competing to get through the day and reach the quarterfinals tomorrow.

Polina Buhrova, from Ukraine, is one of the athletes who succeeded in today’s first round. Buhrova faced Romane Cloteaux-Foucault, from France, and won in straight games 25-23 25-23. “I think today Romane, my opponent, was playing really well and the match was really tough, but I’m proud of myself and of my performance. Not everything was good, but the most important thing is that I won”, shared Buhrova. Her next opponent at the Swedish Open is Lo Sin Yan Happy, from Hong Kong, and later today both will fight for a spot in tomorrow’s quarterfinals.

More tough matches are expected today. Victor Svendsen, from Denmark, is the men’s singles top-seeded player and will soon play versus India’s Abhishek Yeligar. You can watch all matches live on badmintoneurope.tv
