Are you our new Communication Volunteer?

Badminton Europe is looking for a Communication Volunteer to join the team through the European Solidarity Corps (ESC) programme. The position will be based in Badminton Europe's offices in Brøndby, Denmark.


Activity Description
The project's aims are to motivate the European population to play badminton, to motivate people to living a healthy life and to promote the sport of badminton in Europe. Volunteers have always been important part of Badminton Europe at our major events, which could not take place without the volunteers, who serve as important part of the organising and executing team.

The main purpose for Badminton Europe to have a volunteer is to give a young man or a woman a chance to work with sports and communication. Badminton Europe covers multiple events, tournaments and activities, where the volunteer will be included in the coverage plan as part of the communication team. Badminton is a sport for everybody because the starting costs are almost not exciting, and by communicating this message and to make awareness around the sport we would like the volunteer to play a role in making the European people aware of “the sport of gender equity”.

Accommodation, Food and Transport Arrengements
Badminton Europe will through the grant received cover accommodation and flights to and from Denmark for the start and end of volunteership. Badminton Europe will also provide an allowance that will cover food and local transport.

Training During the Activity
The volunteer will join a young communication team and will be introduced to article writing, SoMe posting, video editing as well as on-site coverage of tournaments and activities which will include interviews, video production and photo management. The intention is to have the volunteer assisting and learning next to an employee for the first 3-6 months but then also be given the opportunity to cover smaller activities with remote support. The volunteer will follow planning meetings, evaluations meetings as well as general office briefings. The volunteer will receive feedback on tasks.

Participant Profile
Badminton Europe is looking for a volunteer with a background in communication who has a high standard of English, both spoken and written. The volunteer must have the ability to meet deadlines and to work as part of a team. The successful candidate will have to re-locate to Copenhagen, Denmark and must have the necessary work permission in the EU to be considered for the job.

Activity Duration
A total of 52 week(s) during the period 01/08/2023 to 31/08/2024.
