After a successful inaugural edition in 2022, Luxembourg will be hosting the second edition of the YONEX Luxembourg Open from 4 until 7 May.

Despite missing most of the players that won medals last year, the level in this International Series tournament will be high. The players are hungry for wins as the Olympic qualification period has started just three days ahead of the tournament’s kick-off.

Alex Lanier (France) and Kalle Koljonen (Finland) are first and second seeded respectively, having met in the Polish Open final last March. Ade Resky Dwicahyo (Azerbaijan) and Samuel Hsiao (Germany) are some of the other seeded Europeans in the men’s singles, while Luxembourg’s Jerome Pauquet will be getting started in the main draw, having received a wild card entry.

Likewise, another home player has been given a wild card entry. Kim Schmidt (Luxembourg) will be playing her first match against second seeded Léonice Huet (France). Centre of Excellence player Josefine Redkjær Jensen (Denmark) will also be starting in the main draw.

Joshua Magee/ Paul Reynolds (Ireland), Kate Frost/ Moya Ryan (Ireland), Dominika Kwasnik/ Kornelia Marczak (Poland), Andreas Søndergaard/ Iben Bergstein (Denmark), and Patrick Scheiel/ Franziska Volkmann (Germany) are some of the seeded pairs in the three doubles events.
