Despite Germany trying to stop France from getting away with the win, the hosts got to advance to the final in four matches.
The pressure was on in the third match of the semifinal between Germany and France. Linda Efler/ Isabel Lohau faced Margot Lambert/ Anne Tran, a decisive match with a score of 2-0 for the hosts. It was close at some points in the first game but the German duo got the advantage and went on to comfortably win the second game, 21-17 21-10.
Now at 2-1 for France, Marvin Seidel/ Jan Colin Voelker had to defeat Christo Popov/ Toma Junior Popov to take the semifinal to a fifth match, but the French pair won in straight games, 23-21 21-15.
“It was really 50/50 in the first game, but we were more confident in the second game. That first game was decisive for the match”, explained Christo.
