Even though they lost 4-1 against Denmark in the last match of Group A, the English players are still confident looking forward to the semifinals of the 2023 European Mixed Team Championships.

In the morning session in Aire-sur-la-Lys Gregory Mairs and Jenny Moore were the only English players to put a point on the board for their team. After an intense three-game-battle with ups and downs, Mairs and Moore defeated Mathias Thyrri and Amalie Magelund 21-18, 9-21, 21-14.

All other matches went to Denmark who end up on top of their Group. But also in women's doubles and women's singles, England forced the reigning champions into the decider. That gave them confidence for the upcoming semifinals:

"I think it is quite even. Whoever we play, we will come out fighting and I think we really want to get into that final", said England's Chloe Birch after the match.

In Group B France and Germany are currently fighting for the top spot. Right after the end of today's matches, a live draw will take place to determine the matchups for the semifinals.
