Badminton Europe Confederation (BEC) would like to wish the Ukrainian Badminton Federation a happy 30th anniversary.

Ukrainian badminton has a long tradition. The Ukrainian Badminton Federation was founded in 1992 after Ukraine declared independence from the Soviet Union in 1991. In the last five years, the Ukrainian Federation has made tremendous progress in its development. The federation has been restructured and is represented in all regions of the country.

The Ukrainian Badminton Federation works in close cooperation with international partners and is hosting international events on a regular basis. The most important of these were the BEC Congress in 2019 and the 2021 European Championships in Kyiv.

Ukraine is actively participating in the Shuttle Time program and the Air Badminton program promoting our sport. Since 2019 over 900 Ukrainian teachers have taken part in these programs.

In recent years national University Championships and a national school league have been developed to grow the sport among children and young professionals.

The activities in Para Badminton were crowned by a historic gold medal won by Oksana Kozyna at the Para Badminton World Championships 2022. At the Deaflympics Ukrainian athletes won bronze.

Also, the level of national elite badminton increased significantly in recent years. Every year Ukraine hosts at least two international tournaments and holds professional national teams in different age groups whose members represent the country at all big international events including the Olympic games.

At least fifteen thousand people are involved in the development of badminton in Ukraine and the number is constantly growing. The Ukrainian Badminton Federation believes that after the end of the war, the people will bring badminton in Ukraine to a new level.
