The matches started at 2:00PM and the Danes Kim Astrup and Anders Rasmussen were the first fighting for a spot in the finals. The Danish double faced the Chinese Taipei pair Lu Ching Yao/ Yang Po Han and lost 14- 21, 21-15, 14-21 in a super intense match. “The last two times we met them we played very well and dominated them, but today was a little bit trickier”, said Astrup. Regarding their opponents Astrup admited “we almost got a little bit physical at the net at some point, but I enjoy that”.
  

Ben Lane and Sean Vendy were the next in line. The Englishmen lost to Lee Jhe-Huei and Yang Po-Hsuan 9-21 17-21. The Chinese Taipei double was dominant and Sean Vendy refered that he feels “really disappointed”. 

Mixed doubles

Mathias Thyrri and Amalie Magelund (Denmark) lost against Feng Yan Zhe and Huang Dong Ping (China) 19-21 18-21. The Danes gave a good fight, but it still wasn’t enough. “It was a tough match, the Danes gave us a lot of pressure, however we took initiative so we could win the game. The result of the match is better than we expected”, stated Huang.

The French mixed doubles pair Thom Gicquel and Delphine Delrue who was having a good week at the Hylo Open, couldn’t make it to the finals today. Gicquel and Delrue lost to Rehan Kusharjanto and Lisa Kusumawati (Indonesia) 23-21, 14-21, 7-21. “It’s tough to play them, because they are really good in the front and mid court. They played well again today”, said Gicquel. 

Men’s singles

Toma Junior Popov (France), who won in straight games against Li Shi Feng (China) yesterday lost against Chou Tien Chen (Chinese Taipei) today. “He was quicker than me in every shot with the legs and footwork. He was ready for this match”, shared Popov. The French lost 17-21 11-21. Chou Tien Chen added “I really like this city and every time I come back, I come back to my younger me. I feel younger and stronger”.  

Women’s singles

Han Yue (China) and Gregoria Tunjung (Indonesia) played the first women’s single match of the day. Gregoria Tunjung lost to Han Yue 19-21 19-21. “I feel very happy to enter the final, it’s a very important experience for me”, said Han Yue.

Women’s doubles

Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Pullela from India faced Benyapa Aimsaard and Nuntakarn Aimsaard from Thailand. The Thai duo won the three-game match 17-21, 21-14, 21-18. “This is the first time we go to the finals in this tournament and I’m really happy” shared Nuntakarn.
