In the final of the European Junior Team Championships 2022 in Belgrade, Denmark bet the top-seeded French team 3-1.

After Alex Lanier got the first win beating Jakob Houe 21-9 and 21-15 in men’s singles, the Danes took over. Benedicte Sillassen equalized the match with an undisputed 21-13 21-10 victory over Emilie Drouin before Jakob Houe and Christian Faust Kjær gave the Danes the lead with a win in men’s doubles. After a close 21-19 against Mael Cattoen and Lucas Renoir, the Danes increased the tempo and won 21-10.

The women's doubles turned out to be a thrilling battle between the two teams. Benedicte Sillassen and Maria Højlund Tommerup won the first game 21-17 but the French pair, Elsa Jacob and Camille Pognante, came back to take game two 21-17. In the decider, the French were already leading 19-18 before Sillassen and Tommerup scored three points in a row to win the game and crown their team European champions of 2022.

Right after the medal ceremony, the first rounds of the individual event began.
