Kaloyana Nalbantova has emulated what her idols, Bulgarian stars Gabriela and Stefani Stoeva, achieved over two European U17 Championships in just one.
As the current double European Champions, the Stoeva sisters did in 2009, Kaloyana Nalbantova/ Tsvetina Popivanova took the bronze in the women's doubles.

The second seeded Bulgarian Kaloyana Nalbantova faced top seed and reigning bronze medallist from two years ago, Joanna Podedworny of Poland. It was a tight first game where the Pole threatened to steal the opener. However, Nalbantova held on and kicked away from her opponent who was slowly losing her faith. The match ended in two straight games.
Stefani Stoeva won gold in women's singles precisely a decade ago.
Nalbantova matched that feat, she celebrated with a smile, a fist in the air and hugs from coaches and fellow players. Clearly a popular player on the U17 circuit. With what she has achieved she is also one to watch. Perhaps Bulgaria have another one?
