Offering a wide variety of resources to help make badminton more accessible, here is what you need to know about the B4ALL Online Platform for Inclusive Badminton.

Promoting inclusive badminton through a variety of initiatives, activities and resources, the European network of Badminton for All has been developing these last few years a highly valuable and multidisciplinary online platform.

Spreading the word of inclusivity
Offering a wealth of information in an easily approachable and modern site, the platform serves as a go-to point for online training, monitoring, and evaluating for all those in badminton who want to make the sport more accessible.

This has been a years-long project in which people from different sectors of badminton have come together to add their own expertise and experience. They have had to face some difficulties along the way, but the online platform is up and running, ready for everyone to enjoy. BEC Development and High Performance Officer Mari Carmen Casermeiro has been involved in the process and is now proud to present this great accomplishment.

-I am glad that we succeeded in finishing this project despite all the difficulties faced within the last phase due to the pandemic. We have managed to develop the two main resources. Our main goal from now onwards is to spread and disseminate them among our members, Casermeiro said.

The B4ALL Online Platform for Inclusive Badminton is available in five languages — English, Spanish, French, Italian and Finnish —, offering content divided in two main parts. The first consists of a general module and a specific module. The last part is split into three different profiles that deal with inclusive content for umpires, coaches, and PE teachers as well as volunteers.

The platform is totally free of cost and all that those interested have to do is to register online. They will then have the possibility to get a certification in the profiles of umpire, coach, PE teacher and volunteer. Therefore, it is aimed at a broad audience and will definitely help with its main goals.

-We really believe that these tools will provide those interested with the knowledge and confidence needed to integrate everyone through badminton, Casermeiro added.

The main entities who can take advantage of this tool are badminton member associations, badminton clubs, educational centres, universities, inclusive associations and so more individuals looking to do their bit for improving the sport through inclusivity by also improving their knowledge on the different relevant issues.
