Valletta will be hosting the 2022 BEC Congress including Members’ Forum, Annual Delegates’ Meeting and the BEC Awards Gala.

After the cancellation of the 2020 BEC Congress, which should have taken place in Bucharest, Romania and the 2021 congress, which also due to the pandemic could not take place in Kyiv, Ukraine, the Badminton Europe Board of Directors hope to see the return of the BEC Congress in spring 2022.

The best choice
At the 2021 Annual Delegates’ Meeting, the Badminton Europe President, Peter Tarcala, announced that Valletta will be the hosting city of the 2022 BEC Congress.

- We had quite a number of bids, and the decision was to go to Valletta, because it was the best choice, the President said.

- I always expect the highest, to get the BEC Congress better and better.

A big job
General Secretary at Badminton Europe, Brian Agerbak, is also pleased to see a ‘new’ member organising one of the big Badminton Europe events.

- I am very happy that Malta is stepping forward and have the ambitions to organise a congress, which is a big job for a small federation. It is a fantastic destination to go to, and I am sure that all members are happy to go to sunny Malta in April next year.

It will be the first time that Malta will be hosting the BEC Congress.
