The biggest event on the European calendar, where we will crown the continental champions, is now just two weeks away.

Time has flown by since the 2020 European Championships due to take place in Kyiv were postponed and then subsequently cancelled due to COVID-19. Ukraine was very keen for the event to take place within their borders and looked to 2021 as the year that this festival of badminton will feature in the capital.

The 2021 European Championships will take place from 27 April to 2 May.

So many historic moments can occur on these dates and should not be missed by any badminton fan. Will Carolina Marin do what has not been done before and win five golds in a row? Can Viktor Axelsen pick up his third title? Both Kim Astrup/ Anders Skaarup Rasmussen and Gabriela Stoeva/ Stefani Stoeva are defending their title against experienced and hungry pairs. In mixed doubles, we will have a new champion and many pairs are licking their lips at the prospect.

Kyiv is ready
Last month a delegation from Badminton Europe visited the Ukrainian hosts. President of the Ukrainian Badminton Federation, Oleksii Dniprov, is very much looking forward to this special moment for Ukraine.

- The 2021 European Championships in Ukraine is a contribution to the pride of our country and a sign of trust to Ukraine as a reliable partner.

- With the support of the state and our partners, we are ready to organise the European Championships in Kyiv at the highest level, Dniprov said.
