World No.1 Tai Tzu Ying, who clinched her semifinal place beating home favourite Ratchanok Intanon in her last group match today, will take on Korean teen An Se Young in the semifinals of the HSBC BWF World Tour Finals 2020 in Bangkok, Thailand on Saturday.
The draw for the semifinals was conducted following the completion of the group stage.

An Se Young had topped Group A beating Carolina Marin, who is looking for her third successive title. Marin, who has yet to win the season finale, faces Pornpawee Chochuwong, surprise winner of Group B.
In men’s singles, both semifinals feature Denmark versus Chinese Taipei. Viktor Axelsen, who is on a sequence of 28 victories, will face Chou Tien Chen, whom he beat today in their last group match – his 12th win over Chou in 14 matches.
Axelsen’s compatriot Anders Antonsen, winner of the DANISA Denmark Open last October, takes on Group B winner Wang Tzu Wei.
In mixed doubles, Thom Gicquel and Delphine Delrue, the first French pair in the semifinals of an event of this level, will attempt to stop home duo Dechapol Puavaranukroh/Sapsiree Taerattanachai, winners of the first two events of the Asian Leg.
The other semifinal has Korea’s Seo Seung Jae/Chae YuJung against Malaysia’s Goh Soon Huat/Lai Shevon Jemie.
Korea have contenders in all three paired events. In women’s doubles, Lee So Hee/Shin Seung Chan are drawn to face Malaysia’s Chow Mei Kuan/Lee Meng Yean, while another Korean pair, Kim So Yeong/Kong Hee Yong – winners of the TOYOTA Thailand Open last week – take on home duo Jongkolphan Kititharakul/Rawinda Prajongjai.
In men’s doubles, defending champions Mohammad Ahsan/Hendra Setiawan – the only Indonesians left in the competition – will hope to overcome their 0-3 record against Koreans Choi SolGyu/Seo Seung Jae when they face off in the semifinals.
Chinese Taipei’s Lee Yang/Wang Chi-Lin, who have won the first two events of the Asian Leg, will look to make their third successive final when they meet England’s Ben Lane/Sean Vendy.
