Seventh seeds Tomic and Vitman won their first match at the European Junior Championships and are now ready for revenge.
Mihaljo Tomic and Andjela Vitman from Serbia won their opening match against Gabriel Rodrigues and Mariana Neves from Portugal.
- It was quite a good match. We made a few unforced errors and few service mistakes, but quite a good match for the start of the tournament, Tomic said.
In the team event Serbia was third seeded, but in the group stage they lost out to Spain making them face France in the knockout stage, where they lost 0-3 which meant no medal for Serbia.
- We lost against Spain and it was very disappointing for us. But now it is a new tournament and new matches, so we hope we can take a medal, Tomic said.
Ready for revenge
In the next round, they will play against Mads Vestergaard and Clara Løber from Denmark, which they recently faced at the Slovenia Junior International. Here the Danes won 21-16 21-7.
- In Slovenia, honestly, it was a terrible match. We played so bad, and now we really want to get revenge, Tomic ended.
