William Kryger Boe and Frederikke Østergaard from Denmark are through to tomorrow after beating Czech Jan Janoštík and Tallulah Sharleen Van Coppenolle.

The Danes played once in the team event against Faroe Islands and today they played their first individual match. They secured a spot in the third round after winning 21-15 21-17 against Janoštík and Van Coppenolle

- We felt very well on court. It was good to get started with the individuals, Østergaard said.

- Janoštík is covering the court very well, he has a very hard smash, so we had to play a lot of soft shots and also some lifts over him as he is good in the flat, Boe added.

Two different games

In the team event, Østergaard also played the women’s singles a couple of times but is only focusing on mixed doubles with Boe in the individuals. Talking about how it is to play the two categories at the same time, she said.

- It is a bit difficult. It is two totally different games, but I like to play both.

Tomorrow the Danes will face fourth seeds Mathias Kicklitz and Thuc Phuong Nguyen from Germany.
