Just a day after winning the silver medal in the team event Christo Popov and Flavie Vallet from France are back on court fighting for a medal in the individuals.

Popov and Vallet were facing Andrei Don and Olga Tykhorskaya from Ukraine in today’s mixed doubles.

Yesterday Popov and Vallet lost out in a very close match against Vestergaard/Løber from Denmark in the team’s final, but today they were able to claim a victory against the Ukrainians 21-18 21-14.

- I do not think we played very well today. We could not find the level we played at yesterday. But I feel confident that we can play against the top mixed pairs in the tournament, Popov said.

- It is the last tournament of the year, so we will focus 100 per cent, Popov said.

Can they claim the gold?

When the entries for the Juniors were published Popov was of course to be found top seeded in the men’s singles, but he had also the mixed doubles.

Asking Vallet and Popov how far they think they can go, Popov said.

- I am sure we can get the gold.
