Klaudia Majorowa will attend the first ever BWF Coach Education Level 1 Course in Russia.

Coaches are important in any sports system and coach education is an important area the BWF and BEC are focusing on. Badminton Europe introduced the BWF coach education in 2012.

Badminton Europe has since set up a support program to help its members with the implementation of the coach education system. The number of federations that have been running courses has increased, and now Russia adds their name to the list.

From 8 to 10 October 2020, Russia will host a BWF Coach Education Level 1 Course.

The course will be held with the participation of the best Russian coaches, including Klaudia Majorowa, recognised by Badminton Europe as Coach of the Year in 2018.

Classes will be held at the Borisoglebsky Sports Palace in Ramenskoye, which twice became the home arena for the European Badminton Championships and hosted the World Student Badminton Championships. The course will be held in Russian.

Anyone who loves badminton
Chairman of Council for the National Badminton Federation of Russia, Andrey Antropov, believes this event will capitalise on the growth of badminton in Russia.

- Holding a seminar for coaches is one of the priority tasks of the Federation. This is due to a significant increase in interest in badminton, which we are seeing in the country. The number of tournaments, the number of amateurs is growing, and badminton is being actively introduced to schools and universities, he says.

Steps like this help create a good base for development and at the same time increases the demand for coach education. A significant role is beginning to be played by first-level coaches as they often find future stars or teach the game to those who want to play at any age. Further commenting on this, Antropov states.

- When we talk to our colleagues in Europe, we see quite a lot of places where similar processes are taking place. That is why the seminar is so important now. People who come to it will get new opportunities for development and growth, for expanding their field of activity, and for earning money in these difficult times.

A final statement on why you should register your interest for the event, Antropov says.

- We are sure that badminton is the sport of the future. A democratic, interesting, and useful sports game will certainly be in demand in the coming decades. Therefore, the workshop is such an important step for anyone who loves badminton.
