Milan Ludik, the number one Czech men’s singles player says that as long as he has fire and joy to continue developing he will continue playing at the highest level.

Ludik, currently 128 in the world and runner up at both the South Africa and Egypt International last year, is keen to get on and start playing once again. Commenting on his physical preparation he says.

- So far, I am lucky to say that I am not bothered with any serious injuries which is great.

Living in Denmark
Ludik, who five years ago was knocking on the door of the world’s top 50 has been in recent years training at Badminton Europe’s Centre of Excellence (COE) in Denmark. Explaining how this has helped him in his career, he states.

- The COE has given me a lot in my badminton career and also in personal life. I was united with players from all over the world and together we worked hard to achieve our goals. I was lucky to work with dedicated coaches to who prioritized my development. I would like to express my huge gratitude to them.

Coach Ludik

Ludik has been at the centre for nearly three years and has seen it grow and worked with many top coaches. When asked if he sees himself as a coach once his playing career is over, he responded by saying.

- I can see myself in this role in future. I would need to further develop myself in this area because playing is not same as coaching. I definitely hope I can help promote a better badminton culture in the Czech Republic and future talents.
