Rising French stars Thom Gicquel and Delphine Delrue find themselves in the second round of the All England after a terrific display against display against Indonesia’s Maulana and Bandaso.

Right after the match, the delighted French pair stood with smiles on their faces. Gicquel said.

-We are very happy. It is the first time for me, so I am very pleased with this result. I think we played a solid game and stayed focused all the way through the match.

When asked about what they can take from winning in two straight games, 21-13, 21-13, Delrue explained.

-I think we served and returned well. So, we started the rallies in a good position. We had the attack for the whole match, so it was quite easy to score the points.

-They also did a lot of mistakes, giving away points too easily. Which made it more comfortable for us to win this one, Gicquel added.

Gicquel and Delrue stated they will be watching their next opponents on court one prior to their second round encounter tomorrow. It is now known that their opponents will be number eight seeds Hafiz Faizel and Gloria Widjaja.
