On Valentine’s Day in Liévin, France, while the senior players are already fighting for medals in the European Men’s and Women’s Team Championships, the 2020 European U15 Championships gets underway.

The fans at the Arena Stade Couvert de Liévin have been terrific all week, enjoying Europe’s top players. They will now be treated with a glimpse into the future of the sport, with Europe’s best young talents battling it out for the continental crown.

The power of the home crowd
Last time, at the 2018 European U15 Championships in Kazan, Russia topped the medals table with nine on home soil. Followed by France with six, and then Denmark with three. As it is now the French with the home advantage, will it be the hosts who take the top spot?
