2019 has been a great year in the badminton world, but we are all excited to find out what 2020 will bring.

2020 is, of course, an Olympic year, and all roads are leading to Tokyo. The games begin on 25 July, when the badminton world will be tuning in to witness the next Olympic champions being engraved into history. Will the European players bring home more than their gold, silver and two bronzes won in Rio 2016?

From 16-24 May, the Thomas & Uber Cup will be coming to Aarhus, Denmark, who will become the first European hosts of the prestigious event. The worlds best players will be arriving to represent and proudly play for their nation. Who will fight for the right to be called the best in the world?

Bo Jensen, CEO of Badminton Denmark, comments on this historic occasion.

- We are very excited about the opportunity to host the event in 2020, not only for Denmark but for Europe. It is something extremely important, as it is the major event for a national federation. It is actually the first time we are hosting the Thomas and Uber Cup concept outside of Asia, which we are very proud of.

Also at the event, AirBadminton will be demonstrated at pop-up events on beaches, parks and streets around the city.
