Team events always stand out as special occasions on any badminton calendar. In February 2019, we had the European Mixed Team Championships in Copenhagen, Denmark. A tournament that has a long history spanning from 1972.

Hosts Denmark defeated Germany, the 2013 champions, 3-0 in the final to win the title in front of their home crowd. Denmark claimed championship number 17.

The Netherlands achieved a bronze medal for the first time since 2006, along with Russia, who were the silver medallists in 2017.

History was made
The European Club Championships took place this year in Junglinster, Luxembourg. The championships are played by clubs from all around Europe.

Russian club Primorye Vladivostok became the most successful club in Europe by winning the European Club Championships for the eighth time. They defeated the French outfit of BC Chambly Oise 3-0, who have been runners up for the last four years. This was also the first time the final was a clean sweep since 1985.
