Badminton Vlaanderen is the governing body for badminton in the Flemish Area of Belgium and is seeking for a Technical Director Top Sport as of April 1st of 2020.
Vision - Topsport Badminton Vlaanderen develops the most talented players to performers at European Championships, World Championships and Olympics.
Mission – Topsport Badminton Vlaanderen, partner on the path to an Olympic medal.
As Technical Director Top Sport you will be responsible to realize the program top sport within the structure of Badminton Vlaanderen. You are the unique point of contact when realizing the top sport policy and top sport action plan.
You are responsible for the defense and approval of the program Top Sport by the board of Badminton Vlaanderen.
You are a real inspirator for the top sport coaches and work in close cooperation with the head coach to realize the top sport policy targets.
The function Technical Director Top Sport of the federation is subsidized by Topsport Vlaanderen in condition of formal approval based on profile, experience, pedagogical experience, previously acquired competences and top sport achievements of the candidate.
Key objectives
Policy development focused on optimisation Topsport policy and measurable outputs in following action domains:
· Elite performing- and development programs
· Topsport school
· Talent detection and talent development
· Coach development
General profile and experience requirements
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience of high performance planning, long-term goal setting, implementation, measurement and adjustment of planning in top sport
- You work goal-oriented and can clearly determine how objectives will be achieved
- You are experienced with financial budgeting
- It is an advantage, but not a necessity, for applicants to have a pedagogical diploma
- You communicate fluently in English. Preferably you speak Dutch, but it is not a hard prerequisite French is an advantage.
- Willing to work irregular hours including weekend work and traveling
- Driver’s license

- Highly motivated to develop the federation towards excellence and perfection on the pathway to world-class performance.
- Ability to lead and work as part of a team in the environment of coaches, administrators and athletes.
- Being able to find agreement/compromise where possible while being able to make tough decisions when needed
- Dedicated to improve the overall top sport policy plan of Badminton Vlaanderen
- Preferably you are a passionate badminton player, but we are also open towards candidates with an expertise from a different sport discipline.
- You enjoy to motivate and inspire your team members and players.
- Strong anti-doping stance.
